Wednesday 18th October - Williamstown Beaches

Today was lovely - sunny and warm. Good enough to hit the beach! So we caught the train, changed at Footscray and got the connecting train to Williamstown. Usually we get off at Williamstown and find the ice cream shop. Today though we changed routine and alighted at Williamstown Beaches. Here is the view which greets you as you head towards the shoreline.

We walked around the coast and passed the Williamstown Time Bell Tower. Further round passing the back of the port.

There has to be a Nelson pub where ever you go!

We stopped off in the main street for a lovely fresh egg mayo roll and controversially a piece of lemon meringue pie - delicious! Especially with the tall cup of latte. Mmmm!

We then continued along the street and out towards the sailing club. We found a bench and watched as the ships came into Port Melbourne and beyond to the Docklands.

All the while exchanging text messages with Stu and Emma who were killing a few hours in Sydney whilst waiting for their flights to Indonesia.

Me!

Looking outwards to the main bridge - the docklands are to the right of the picture. We eventually decided to head back to the station and went via Customs House for a pint. Sadly no Amber Ale. Boo.
