Tuesday 17th October - St Kilda Pt II

Back in Melbourne - time for a blog update and some retrospective thoughts as Ma and I dived into the Internet cafe this morning.
Then we caught a tram to St Kilda. Aah the Camden by-the-Sea of Melbourne!

See the masts!?!
Great cloud formations
And in true suburb style - a shopping trolley nicely displayed to really sell the pier!
The cloud is still there!
The Harbour Wall - this is where the penguins come back to roost in the evenings..
The Pier
A St Kilda mosaic.

For lunch we sat outside the Beachcomber Cafe and ate potato wedges! The we continued our wander and I went beach combing!
The afternoon turned from warm and pleasant (and yes quite windy) to suddenly rather dark...

The Pier at dusk.

We took a boat from the Pier to float around the harbour at dusk and watch the penguins returning to their roosts.
These are the photos of Melbourne from the boat - hence the colourful lights and lines.. quite arty really!

After the boat trip and seeing the penguins we got a tram back to Flinders Street Station - had a quick beer in the Young n Jacksons and headed home for a bowl of porridge!
